| I
began playing the piano when I was thirteen
and really enjoyed making music, but after
about a year, I decided that I wanted to
learn the guitar. That Christmas, my parents
bought me a Kramer guitar and a “How to
Play Guitar...” video with some retarded
old guy on it. Well, it taught me the chords
and a few songs, but then I learned what a
power cord was and figured out Ironman. I
didn’t have a distortion pedal or amp at
the time, so I plugged my guitar into an old
Sony boom-box with the volume cranked up,
which made some really crappy overdrive.
When I got
to high-school, I decided that I wanted to
form a band for the school talent show, and
so I found a bassist, guitarist, and drummer
and singer. We sounded alright, but they
were all seniors and I was a freshmen. The
next year I formed a new band, also all
seniors, and by the time I was a junior, a
found a drummer and a singer in my grade. We
couldn’t find a bassist, so we used a
keyboard bass. Throughout those four years,
I think I jammed with everybody in my school
that played an instrument, even playing in
the Jazz Band, and fifteen piece swing band
that I formed for a talent show.
Lately, I
have not only be concentrating on getting
better at the guitar, but also on music
theory and song writing. I am really looking
forward to helping make the band’s first
CD, and hope to learn a lot about music
production in the coming months. Till then,
peace. |
