| Envy
was formed in the basement of Dobson Hall on the
UW-Platteville campus. Guitarists Jaek
Pachniak and Dan
Faherty started a band and quickly added
bassist Chris Wolf
and drummer Dan Moris
to the mix. From there the search began for
a singer. "Singer Wanted" ads were
placed around the campus and the auditions began.
Enter Amanda Tvedt.
Her beautiful voice and attitude made the choice
easy for the new band. With the line-up now
set, the band now begins to bring a new sound to
the Platteville scene currently saturated with
Nickelback and Creed-cover bands.
The Band played
it's first gig at the McGregor Hall Open Mic
playing three cover songs: Santeria, Under the
Bridge, and Criminal. After further
experience from playing at house parties and the
Dobson Hall Service Auction, they took their music
to the stage at the 2002 UWP Battle of the Bands
in which they took second. Not bad for a
band that had been together for only little over a
month and a half.
